Users rate each other's posts according to credibility, etc etc. For example, somebody's post can be funny so they rate it as funny. Some are spam, others agree, insightful, etc etc. Too much bad Karma can lead to your posts getting hidden, too much good karma and you're a bad ass

i have to admit, this is the first forum i've been on that utilises a karma system, and i almost posted the question about it.

instead i did a search, and upon seeing all of the threads asking, and the subsequent karma raping, i decided better of it
