Been asked if we can take a payment by credit card, now the vast majority of our business is not done this way so signing up for a credit card machine and agreement etc isn’t really practical or cost efficient.

Does anyone have any websites that you can take payments through that don’t charge ridiculous fees etc for the odd payment.
Maybe some front end that can be linked to through the company website/sent to the customer in question?

Cheers for any input

Paypal perhaps? Fee's are somewhere in the region of 2-4% I think.

PayPal offer website standard for free.

They take 3.4% + 20p on every transaction.

You can create payment buttons from the account for one off things like you could have.

1 Month Trial £20
2 Month Trial £30
3 Month Trial £40

You create separate buttons for each and embed them on your site.

Customers can pay via all major debit & credit cards without having a PayPal account.

You can also get a terminal for PayPal but it costs on a monthly basis. That would allow you to take card payments over the phone which you can't do with standard.

Is there a fee for taking your money out of the paypal account (hidden sort of fee)?

I could put it through mine for you and paypal or bacs the money but unless you know them well they might think it odd that it's not your business name on the statement.

I have a merchant account via paypal, cheaper, faster and less hassle than barclays card services who wanted a deposit and would hold transactions for something stupid like 3 weeks

Paypal charge £20 a month plus transaction fees, I can use the virtual terminal on any pc and can take card payments on a paypal terminal app on my phone.

Also they've sped up the withdrawal process, takes 2-3 working days rather than 5.
