...and the tax disc will go the previous owner, who may or may not be bothered to forward it to you. If they dither and delay then come 1st April you're off the road again with no tax to display on your bike.

I know plenty of people ride without displaying tax because kittens will steal it when parked. It is a risk as you can be done for not displaying the disc (even when you have one).

I think the risk of being caught not showing a tax disc is only prevalent on public roads and parking?

So for someone like me who mostly parks in a private car park and a garage, I think its quite low risk (touch wood)?

Could be wrong though Thumbs Up

So you bought a bike and the owner did not give you the MOT cert ?
I know they are just a plain bit of A4 now. But it should still have been given to you.
Ins I guess you have just done and not recieved the cert. Ring or email them to get a copy sent via email.

But If the bike is not insured or MOT'd, then the online wossname won't work.

Also, you need the tax reminder or V5 which gives you the reference number to proceed.

I hate when life gets complicated like that *sigh*

I had a similar problem with my van (until recently) one of those "you have to do this, but you can't do this, because of this ... etc etc ad nauseum"

... but its almost solved now.

Seems like if one vehicle is off the road, they all end up being off the bloody road Rolling Eyes
