Be careful on there folks, there's chippings and crap scattered all along it in patches.

The main point to watch is at the south end near Troutbeck, Tar and scatter and they were heavy on the chippings on the approach to that bridge heading north. A friends bike went down trying to avoid a skidding car (09 R6, probably a write off, rider got lots of bruising and a suspected broken collar bone, back in hospital now for more X-rays and painkillers GWS Chloe)

I hope you informed the local authority of this, and the danger they posed by not sorting the road out correctly? They have a duty of care to ensure the road is safe for all traffic.

If it was road under repair one would assume that there was signage and temp speed limits ?

No warning signs of any kind, the only warning I had was the dust cloud being kicked up by the bikes ahead, Shocked even the copper's all agreed that speed was not an issue and I think they took some photos. I didn't, at the time I didn't want to.

She's getting legal advice and her fella took plenty of pictures of the scene.

Also shes OK! badly battered, sprained and bruised but nothing broken.

All her gear is trashed, boot got a big hole ripped in it but her foot is fine A* so not cheapies, paramedics cut the rest off and the helmet is pretty scuffed up.

Good gear is good Thumbs Up glad I've upgraded for this season with decent kit but i had a good cringe today seeing a rider and pillion in shorts and T-shirt....

Someone has hosted a pic of the bike on facebook so I suppose it's ok to share.....

That's the good side.

My cousin is currently fighting a court case worth £300,000 due to the council putting down chippings without any signage. Whatever happens, stick to your guns. Also get everything in writing and as much photographic evidence as possible, of the road as well as the bike and anything else you can think of.
