Hello,

Does anyone know of anywhere where I can send my SMX 4 boots to, so that I can have some new Velcro applied to them?

Apart from the Velcro the boots are perfect, I've had them about 4 or 5 years, they are still solid, and look good as I polish them at least once a week.

Tbh I don't want to get rid of them, they are okay with my leather trousers as they can go over the boots.

However with my 1 piece I want to tuck my leathers in to my boot, but the Velcro's not sticking.

Most shoe-repair places and dry-cleaners will do it for you. I know there is one down here that will do it for £5 a boot, but I know some other places charge like £20.

You honestly polish your boots once a week?

I have never washed or polished a pair of bike boots although I do make an effort to ride through the occasional deep puddle if they get muddy Laughing .

As for the velcro, the old fashioned "cobbler" shoe shops that usually cut keys too will do boot repairs.

I keep a pair of shoes at work as I commute at work and it's a shirt and tie job.

Anyway, I also thus have to clean my shoes at work. And seen as my shoes are next to my boots, I always just polish them as well.

I just use that the Kiwi shoe polish works a treat.

I had to have my SMX sport boots re-velcroed recently and this was done by my local cobbler for a paltry sum and was worth every penny.

As for keeping ones boots clean and polished,I too keep them nice and shiney.Maybe this harks back to my days when a superior officer would make a comment and tut-tut.But I like to have my bike looking clean so why have dirty bike clothing?
