First time working on a bike. All parts are there, although I have never heard the engine roar... for $500 is it worth buying and putting it all together?? or too much of a hassle?

Said carbs have been rebuilt, but im just a little skeptical
Any ideas will be GREATLY appreciate and thank you once again!

In your part of the world; you have too much money. No it's almost certainly not worth it. By the time you have fathomed it all out, it would have been cheaper to just buy a working one.

But as a way of wasting some of the excesses of the North American resorses, like your surfit of excess SUNSHINE and leisure time, and stop you doing anything more dangerous with your disposable income, like.... exercising your constitutional right to bare arms... though WHY you would want to display your bingo-wings, let alone have a law that makes it a virtue I don't know?!?

Rebuilding old motorbikes, is an excersize in futility that is a little cheaper than golf, slightly more expensive than fishing, and as rewarding as it is frustrating!

See my profile for a couple of examples of insanity I have engaged in recently..... take a tour of the Show & Tell forum for illustration of the depths of others depravity & delusion!

But starting with a box of bits; what you have is a Jig-saw without a box. So no idea how many pieces it should have, whether they are all there, or what they should look like when they are all put together.... in short, NOT a project for the feint hearted!

So; first off; you are American, so you probably pass the first criteria of dangerously nieve optimism; you are interested in bikes; so you are obviousely MAD enough... rest is down to you really?

Do you fancy spending the next year, up to your elbows in grease & oil, nuts and bolts, spending time & money trying to track down inordinately expensive 'bits' that are missing or worn out, while your mates scratch thier heads and tell you that it's a waste of time, you ought to do a Harley, or that a ZX6R will still be faster?
