So should be ok in jeans. But if you're not wearing boots and other biking gear they can refuse to conduct the test.

Treat it like a job interview and dress to impress, you need to make a good first impression.
Wearing jeans is a shit way to do it IMO. I rode in to town in jeans today, I'm not against wearing them necessarily but wouldn't dream of turning up for my Mod 1 or 2 in them.

If you want jeans get some kevlar ones.I have a pair of them, they will protest you more than normal jeans, but not as much as proper armoured gear.

as someone above has already said, treat it as a chance to impress - an examiner will be more happy to see someone wearing the correct gear from the start as a first impression - not to mention it's safer to wear the correct clothing for your own safety.

I wore jeans on both my Mod1&2, with no high-vis in sight either!
Although I did wear boots and a textile bike jacket

However, if you havent got any proper trousers and you're worried about it, stick a pair of waterproof trousers over the top, hides a multitude of sins!

Guide to suitable clothing

As a general guide the following is an indication of the minimum level of clothing acceptable:

motorcycle boots
sturdy footwear or boots that provide support and ankle protection
textile or leather motorcycle trousers
heavy denim trousers
heavy denim jacket with several layers underneath
textile or leather motorcycle jacket
motorcycle gloves

Now, DSA Clipboard Nazis being what they are, your local test centre may think that it can impose a higher "minimum" level. You can either:

1) Cross your fingers.
2) Call them and ask.
3) Print off the page above, turn up and say "I'ma sue you!"

Honestly, I hope someone does, because they are being both arrogant and idiotic by trying to set themselves up as arbiters of what constitutes safe gear.

Pre CBT myself but I'd love a pair of kevlar jeans. I can't for the life of me find any that have a 34" waist and a 36" leg though. Are bikers all short and fat or something? Wink

When i did my mod1 & 2 i was wearing jeans, a fleece, thin skiing gloves, hiking boots (ankle high no protection at all Razz ), and no hi vis.

Though, that was before it was said that examiners would turn you away without proper gear on.. Rolling Eyes

Never been necessary for any test (it's only required while doing DAS training) but I do think you'll get some unwritten attitude Karma for wearing one, especially if you're doing it on your own 125.
