I'm a little drunk. Just noticed after a meal out that everyone avoids the last item on the plate like a plague, out of courtesy. It always makes me laugh because I always go for it now as I know people will refuse to take it. It's always something I notice and never heard it talked about (maybe because it's not that interesting, but im interested)

I have no clue what that says about me, but like fuck am I letting food go to waste..

So what do you do? and what does that say about you?

(probably that your a greedy cunt, but meh!)

Ask if anyone else wants it, if yes split it, if no then eat it.

Just taking it makes you a d!ck.

Ha ha, how do you split a tiny pizza between everyone on a table.

Personally I eat every single meal and eat 100% everything that is on the plate - even when I am out for dinner.

There have been many occassions when I have felt full when the plate is still half-full (or half-empty depending on your outlook), but I just keep stuffing the food down my gullet until it is all gone. I hate to see food being wasted.

Dont know where this comes from, but I can only imagine it started when I was young and your parents constantly forced you to 'just eat one more fork/spoon-ful' of a meal.

Did anyone else's parents do this with them?

I generally say: "Does anyone want this, if not, I'm going to eat it? I've had loads anyway, so fell free to have it, I just don't want to waste it."

I normally get to eat it.

I hate waste.

Well if everyone wanted some, I'd probably back out. It's just a tiny pizza. If it's the last one for the sake of the argument situation, I imagine I'd have finished my main meal anyway. Laughing

I'll have to find a miniature pizza cutter and divide equally.

The situation i'm actually talking about is when your in the company of strangers rather than friends. I do say "I'm eating that if no one else want's it" which is still being a bit of a dick as It's not a sharing statement, but I said it first which means I'm the alpha food eater and I deserve it, ha ha.

I'm a bit fat so I wouldn't take it. There's nothing more unseemly than a fat person eating in public.

Offer it to the person who has eaten the least. If they don't want it, ask if anybody else does. If nobody does, ask if anybody minds if you have it, because you are a greedy (but very polite) bastard....

If you see anyone reach for it say "back off skinny, unless you want to lose your hand in the frenzy" Smile

I'll wait until the waiter/host/whoever is cleaning up is about to clear the plates off the table and any food left then is definitely up for grabs!
