CBR 250 conversion

Not being sure what to expect, for your consideration :

I live in a Small NE city in Thailand teaching English. Large bore motorcycles are in the minority, in fact...non existent. I can purchase a "baby CBR" 250 cc. locally with no problem. Relatively cheap.

Question:

Technically, how difficult to mate a 600cc F1 engine to this frame. Used sound engines are easily attainable and can skirt the nasty import tariffs because of the "parts" description.

Worth a look or no?

Very difficult. And I suspect the CBR250 frame and components would be dangerously underspecced to take circa four times the power and a good chunk more weight.
I presume you are talking the new CBR250 single cylinder commuter rather than the older CBR250RR four cylinder sports bike.

A better bet might be to split a bike in to two boxes of bits and get them sent - maybe separately?

Pay tax on the one with the frame etc, but only have a few parts in it, but have it listed as low value.

Sooner you than me mate, have you seen the CBR250? It looks like a kids bike, a 100bhp 600cc CBR engine would tear it to shreds.

Shoehorning a CBR engine into a 250 isn't going to be easy either.

I would seriously reconsider.

getting that conversion to work would most probably cost more than the costs to import a bike i would imagine, not to mention the amount of questionable modifications required to have it as a working bike - i think it would be a death trap!
