I didn't use my bike (05 zx6r) over winter and when i came to start it the battery was dead which i was expecting, I charged the battery and everything was fine. The bike was left again for about a week without running and when i came back to it, it wouldn't start. I put the battery on charge for 4/5 days while i was away, came back bike started fine. Got the bike out today wouldn't start again, it easily bumped off though. I rode the bike for around 40 mile nipped into the petrol station and the bike wouldn't start when i came out literally 2 mins later. Does this sound like the battery has had it or could it be something else? Never had a problem before winter so hopeing its the cold thats killed the battery and not something more serious.

My money is on the battery. I take mine out over a lay off and bring it indoors. Everytime i have did this a few month later it starts the bike easy without a charge. I doubt your reg/rec is fucked over a winter layoff but its worth a check if you have a meter.
