So its a 98 ZX6R F3 model
Been cleaning the carbs so took opportunity to check and adjust valve clearances as well.
Right pain putting it all together and getting the cam timing marks lined up,tho eventually i reckon i got it right.
Put it all together and it fired up no bother
Got a new carb balancer, set it up synched the carbs, bike seems to run nice and rev freely, not had it on road yet as no test

BUT

Theres a section within in the 4 gauges of the carb balancer, that says "valve timing out or leak from cylinder head" all needles are sitting in this section

No sure what to do,dont really wanna rip it all down again
What yas think ?

the only real way to tell those things is going to be with a compression test. if thats fine ignore it.

my gauges always show that an i know may head gasket and valves are fine

hard to see the scale on the pics.

Ignore the stupid writing though, how much vacuum are you drawing at idle? and does it sit within the manufacturers spec?

The gauge is showing 200mm or 8 inches on all gauges, theres no spec for this measurement in either of my manuals, just the maximum difference between the carbs for synchronisation

I'd say that is fine mate, usually are somewhere between 17 to 21cmHg

I have service manual for that bike, and although it doesn't give an exact spec of vac, it just says to ensure that there is less than 2cmHg between any 2 cylinders.

PM me if you want a copy of the service manual

Top man cheers for takin the time to answer,i`ve already got the service manual thanks, and a haynes they both just show the measurement you mentioned.

Was my first time balancing carbs and was quite chuffed i`d got them all the same, until i noticed what it said on the gauge

I actually got it wrong in my original post,it says Late valve timing Or Leak from inlet Manifold

But if you reckon the measurements fine that`ll do me

Onto changing fork oil and brake fluid now,i originally bought this bike two years ago and was gonna use for track days, but my girls in the process of doing her test so getting it ready for her
