Hi
I have just had my lads bike fail its mot because there is supposed to be a rubber spacer or something between the chain and the underneath, asked the local bike shop they looked at me as if I was mad.
Does any one know what they are called or where I can get one from or how to fit them because I cant see where they would fit.

By the way its a chituma cg 125 copy of a honda

I think the part you are looking for is called a 'Chain Guide' or 'Chain Slider' but I can't see one listed anywhere for your bike.

Are you sure it should have one? Not all bikes have them.

You would be better off fitting the correct part - try:

Chituma 125 Chain Guide on eBay

Breaking Chituma 125 for spares

Chinese bike spares specialist

You might find other makes are similar - like Lexmoto, Hongdou, Apache, Sukida, etc.

No you can't cable tie it on - the chain will tear off the cable tie. The MOT tester would die laughing whilst waiting for the fail cert to print out.

The speedo needle shouldn't actually fail the MOT I don't think, it certainly isn't tested and I had my last MOT without a working speedo.

As for the chain guide, are there holes in the underside of your swingarm that it would screw/pop into? Personally, I'd just "paddy" one together on the cheap out of a strip of rubber/bicycle tyre.

I really wouldn't bodge it to be honest. It is there to protect the chain rubbing on the swing arm which would degrade the chain pretty quickly.

What they are on about is:

https://www.chinesemotorcyclepartsonline.co.uk/images/largeimages/1100.jpg

you can get one from:

https://chitumaparts.chinesemotorcyclepartsonline.co.uk/partno_30216_1100.php

You will need to take the swing-arm off to fit it. It should be fixed to the swing-arm usually by screws. I doubt the part comes with them though so you will probably need to source your own.

If you get stuck where it goes give me a shout and i'll do a mock drawing or something.
