He was doing 156mph for a nano second, rest of the time it was more like 110.
18 month ban and £2k fine seems a bit excessive.

On side note, there's also a place near doncaster called pissy bed down, but I can't find it on google maps to prove it.

failing to observe the police motorcycle while travelling at excessive speeds amounted to dangerous driving.

So they got pissy because he didn't slow down when the plod came up on him, because he didn't bow down to their authority

Quote:
Clarke maintained that he was an experienced rider and that speed did not constitute dangerous driving.

I agree, he was in control and was riding perfectly safely, not really going MUCH faster than the other traffic, you can see by the slow overtaking Rolling Eyes

silly popo, they just want to flex their muscle and make a point to other motorcyclists that we're their bitch

But that was the police motorbike doing 156mph to catch him up... towards the start the police bike was only doing 75... its obvious if the bikers going faster then 75, the police bikes going to have to speed to catch him up. Im pretty sure the rest of the cars were doing about 90.. Rolling Eyes

Agree...Cop bike managed to catch him up at 156 so the Biker couldn't of been going that fast if he was caught surely?

Bike cop was also prosecuted and convicted of the same offence for the same reasons, right?

If not, why not?

Chap should start a private prosecution, that'd be a laugh. Wink

We all know the risks of speeding... However I think it's a bit OTT as he wasn't clocked doing 156Mph, and also how can the police rider justify doing that speed?

'Clarke said in his defence at Peterborough Crown Court he was in total control of his motorcycle at all times and that it was built for speed.'

Oh well in that case don't worry, we clear you of all charges sir! Laughing

Well that is taking the piss if he doesn't slow down with a marked police bike on his tail!

Rolling Eyes Seriously? That would be good if anyone could evade the police simply by going over the speed limit

Oh bu--a when I feel like a blip I always have a look see behind me who's around, if it looks clear then I have a play and always hope I got away with it.

A van followed me today close around Shropshire (Welsh police!) so I kept it to the speed limits when someone's up my rear tyre for a few miles the radar kicks in and I behave.
Now don't get me wrong I'm not a crazy mad thing on the bike but 'a time and a place' but its worth keeping under wraps unti you get a clear bit of road.

And thats the whole problem isnt it.. "we hope we got away with it".. As if weve done something wrong.. FEAR of the corporate policy enforcers (police) coming and taking our toys away..

Its bullshit.. I fookin hate the law, police and everything they stand for. It is not about keeping the peace & protecting men & women from harm..

It is about corporate revenue and dictating how people can live their lives. We pay for the bikes, pay the insurance, pay the road tax, pay the fuel bill and everything else.. And then we have to be fearful of a criminal organisation called the poo-lice men just incase we just so happen to break one of their rules..

I mean who the hell agreed to abide by all these rules anyway ? I sure as hell didnt..

What about the ones that aren't traffic cops? You know the ones that risk their lives most of the time chasing street scum and trying to stop them from shooting/stabbing you/your loved ones?

Also, Police enforce the law and the courts decide the penalty

Whatever anyone says, riding at 150mph is dangerous on the roads. Anything could have went wrong and put other people at risk. Im sure everyone here would be saying something different if it was someone in a car that was doing that sort of speed.

The guy was a obvious idiot for not noticing marked police behind him. Just goes to show how much he was concentrating on the road.

Laughing Hilarious, I bet Newmannwy wears cammo all day and has a bomb shelter in his garden stocked full of canned goods, guns & ammo for the day the "facist corporate governance" come to get him!
