Browsing on the Honda motorcycles website, I came across a page "Win Big Weekend" which states, and I quote - "...Join us to celebrate the arrival of the new V4 Crosstourer and the rest of our exciting new 2012 models, and you're guaranteed a prize!".

Sounds great I thought....simply enter your details and they'll email or text you a "unique" code, which upon visiting the local dealer during the V4 launch weekend you'll be guaranteed a prize on presentation of the code!

Fantastic!! Very Happy

However........

For a promotion aimed at motorcyclists, I was amazed to find, after clicking on the link "See the great prizes on offer" that one of the prizes is a 12 Month subscription to.....

What Car Magazine!!!

...... Epic Fail Honda!!!!!

Doesn't sound particularly 'epic' to me Confused.

A large proportion of bike riders hold car licences - and may well want to know "what car" if they only have a bike Smile.

So, dannymassive, if we go by your reasoning, does this mean that none of us ''bikers'' should tune into programmes such as Top Gear etc?

No, I wasn't implying that in the slightest, Just that such prizes may be more suited to be a prize for the next Honda Car launch rather than the motorcycle launch!

If Top Gear had a little bit of bikes thrown in i think it would be perfect. I actually think the mass audience would probably get a thrill out of some bike vs car comparisons and the like, the Vietnam special was very popular.

In fact, didn't Top Gear used to feature bikes, many millions of years ago? Thinking

Back on topic - it is kind of a stupid prize, but i'm sure bikers will still want to read about cars, because most of us are motoring enthusiasts so enjoy all types of motorised transportation. Right guys? Guys!?

Rolling Eyes

I was almost tempted to buy one of their "ex-display" deals that was for once an ok price a year or two ago.
Except the power lead was dodgy, or specifically the port in the laptop.

Asked if anything could be done about it and they said no. I took the power lead out and turned the laptop off before leaving - with a manager bloke knowing all about it.

Randomly came back later that day with a friend. Said laptop which was faulty was now powered on (still with dodgy port, I checked), back ready to be sold.

Not really relevant to much, bar showing their terrible customer service and rip-customers-off corporate culture.

Top Gear does occasionally include a bike in some of it's features. This is one that sticks out in my memory:-
