... maybe it should be in a different thread, but meh.

Yesterday after a lot of whinging over the last few days I finally got a friends scooter mostly back together with a couple of bits left to do today.... I went round to the wifes (if we've seperated does she now class as my ex?), when I went into the garage I noticed a puddle of oil under the scooter Sad

It seems instant gasket isn't up to the job... So today I ordered the gasket set, but now it means I have to totally strip the effin' engine down again... after I remove it from the scooter that is.

Oh well... after this I'll have great knowledge of Chinese scooters, inside and out.

I would be pissed off, but it would only be at my own stupidity

All I'm getting from this is "I put an engine back together without new gaskets and now it leaks" Confused

As you say maybe you can learn a little bit about engines and gearboxes, even if it is Chinese.
You never know that knowledge may come in handy at a later date.

@ Artist: no I'm just trying to piss as many people off as I can Razz

@ Tarmacsurfer: yep, that's about the size of it... thought instant gasket would do the job... lesson of the day... it doesn't

@ pepperami: having never stripped an engine in my life... I was amazed at how few parts there were inside... not even once did a very important spring go flying off into the sunset

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
