Just wondering if anyone had noticed the BIKE magazine trackdays? Does anyone know if they are any good?

There are dates at Cardwell and Snetterton for £99. For £35 "novices" also get the chance to race on a closed track then be briefed and paced by instructors.

I thought it might be a good chance for me to do my first trackday.

Date that caught my eye was Cadwell Saturday June 26th, but as the only Saturday date I wouldn't be surprised if it was booked up already.

Anyone like the sound of it?

Cadwell's usually around £99 with other trackday companies and instruction is included in that price if you choose to take advantage of it... doesn't sound like anything out of the ordinary really.

Haven't seen any details about the BIKE magazine days though, so may be missing something here. Smile

Okay maybe I'll just try and go along with whatever date you guys decide then. £99 isn't too bad - I was expecting a trackday to be more like £200+ Smile

best way to start is the Rider skills days through Ride magazine (if they are still doing it)

all under instruction and much more controlled environment for your first track outing - great for building confidence

a bit more expensive but worth it in my opinion

I guess that is similar to what BIKE is offering. They have a section about doing your first trackday this month.

I don't think they are, 90% of the rider skills day is focussed on high speed riding skills, cornering, braking, bike handling etc.

in a small group with an instructor

after a few instructor led sessions you are set free for the last session but there is only overtaking allowed on certain "safe" sections of the track

it's safe and generally no idiots whcih you can't guarantee on a track day and can be a bit offputting first time out
