Hi Folks,
I am about to replace the pads and discs on my 2000 ZZR 600.
I know I need to use threadlock on the disc bolts.....but which one?
I have read around the subject and I think the one I need is Loctite 243 Lock n seal.
Is this the right one?
Does anyone recommend any other types?
I dont want to use a permanent locking compound as I may need to replace the the discs again in the (hopefully distant) future.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks in advance......

I use Loctite 270 as it has a little more hold (and I was given a £30 bottle free) but 243 will be fine.

I've been using 243 on cars for years, and wouldn't hesitate to use it on the bike if and when I need to.

243 is the ideal one for your purposes.

270 I'd have thought would be way too strong Ariel, I've had to use heat to break the seal on that stuff before - it's serious stuff! But, obviously it works for you Very Happy

I use 243.

Have used it on all sorts, including brake disc/caliper bolts.

I've got a bottle of '243 in the garage somewhere too

...and it appears that the previous owner of my Bandit, and/or Suzuki themselves use similar, cos there was some residue left on the original disk bolts when I replaced the rear brake disk a few weeks ago Thumbs Up

The old boy that lived behind my grandad used to rebuild old brit thumpers. According to him the greatest inventions of recent times as far as sorting out the old machines were electronic ignition, threadlock and silicone.
