Hi Folks

We don't run wets in our class so I don't have much experience of them really. My Sponsor has a ZX6 track bike with Dunlop wets on, type unknown, he needs a new front and has been offered a Pirelli cheap, has anybody tried mixing different makes or is it a nono?

120 front/180 rear and he runs in the intermediate class normally so quick enough but not earth shattering!

Is this intermediates on a trackday?

If so, really don't see the problem. It will certainly be better than not having them. Even racing, I'd be happy to do it personally - it wouldn't be ideal, but nor is riding in the rain - where you've got to be careful to not push the limits at that time. If they're very slightly lower because the tyres combination is only working at 95% it's no great shakes.

It's quite common for people to use say a block pattern front and a different herring bone style rear wet.
