Quick question about points...

Had a quick look on the DVLA website but it didnt really answer my question.

Ive got points/endoresments on my licence from;

- December 2006 (CD10/SP30) (0 points)
- July 2007 (SP60/LC20/IN10) (0 points)
- January 2009 (SP30) (3 points)
- June 2009 (IN10) (6 points)

Having looked at the DVLA site it says that the offence codes must stay on the licence for 4 years from the offence date. Does that mean that the points the offence carried are actually valid for 4 years as i believed it was 3 years?

This makes the difference between have 0 or 9 valid points on my licence!

3 yrs for totting up purposes.
4 yrs for being printed on your license (i think can be used as evidence of character if required)
5 yrs for cheeky insurance companies

your license is clean imo

That's a bit of a relief.

It does fuck me off some what that insurance asks for 5 years though (altough only the last 2 are valid for that now).

Bring on next year when I can apply for a clean licence for the first time since 2005! *touches wood*

Yeah, well I've just changed it (was still at my ex wifes addess) to my parents (its where car is insured) which made me wonder.

I only changed the address today so the first set of endorsements should be gone. It will take a while to come through yet
