Wotcha,
Quickie question for the collective out there.
My new DL-650 came from the dealer with Datatag stickers and certificates, so obviously all tagged up and secure.
I was told to register with Datatag that i now had the bike and it would probably be a cost involved to do the transfer.
Up until now, I had forgotted to do this, but a thread in Bike News reminded me.
Anyone happen to know off the top of their heads what kind of money we are talking about to transfer the details across? as i am unable to see any costings on their website.
TIA

It is a one off charge to change the details. Worth doing as sometimes insurance companies ask for proof if you declare.
From experience I'd avoid having SmartWater or transferring SmartWater. When I asked I was told it's an annual fee, not cheap either. In fact was cheaper to buy and install DataTag. I only asked as lad's 2nd (3rd?) hand bike had come from Honda with SmartWater stickers on it. ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

Huh, t'intardtubes suggests that if you have the docs signed by the previous owner (well, I assume just signed) then they didn't used to charge anything. £15 was their fee for contacting the previous owner to confirm.
Either way, I didn't bother. By the time Dibble finds the bike or the parts, it'll be owned by my insurer anyway. The only benefit to me is the stickers. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
