Howdy,

I was just wondering Gentlemen, what sort of engine oil would you recommend for a 4 stroke scooter? My oil needs a change and when I get ze monies, I will buy some. However, I don't know which brand/spec to get?

My scooter will take 20w-50, 50w-40 or 10w-30. The manual says that the recommended oil for the engine is SAE15w-40, but I cannot find anything with that spec!

Ta much xx

Halfords do some but only in 5 litres by the looks of things.

https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_158549_langId_-1_categoryId_165581

or have a look at https://www.opieoils.co.uk/ if your planning on ordering it.

10w40 mineral will be fine, semi synth if you fancy treating it.

Just cheap Morrisons/Tescos own stuff.

I always used Silkolene Comp4 in my scooter. About nine quid a litre.

There is zero point paying a premium for oil if it is going into a ped that is made essentially from a mixture of chop suey and prawn balls.

The cheapest basic 10w40 from Morrisons or Tesco will be fine, just change it often.

Your scoot will happily use anything, but if you want 15w40 it isn't hard to find.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=comma+15w40&_sacat=0&_sop=2&_dmpt=UK_Vehicle_Oils_Lubricants_Fluids&_odkw=comma+15w40&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

Don't be paying halfords prices for it.
