Hi guys,

The back end of last year my brother crashed his Derbi GPR 50, the front end got smashed up but only cosmetic and a lot of the fairings had to go. My dad decided to semi streefighter, you know dominator headlights etc.

But not having much of a clue about bikes he just managed to short the whole bike, kill the battery and literally melt some wires. So at that point we decided to cut our losses and send it to a garage to be fixed.

Three weeks later they bring it back in a worse condition than we sent it, all they had done is made a bracket for the headlights and melt some more wires and bill him for £300.

So now, I have a half mangled bike sat in garden slowly rotting away, and I'm just wondering what my best course of action would be.

Get a new wiring loom off eBay and start again as a little project, sell it as it is and make a huge loss or sell it as parts or any other suggestions.

Thanks Very Much!

If the garage has quoted you a set price for a job to be done, and that job has not been done then i wouldnt have paid them. Obviously retrospect isn't much help but Id ask the garage to finish the job you paid them to do

Strip it.

You need to work out why its melting, find the wires causing the issues and sort them.

Purchase a new battery and get it running.

Failing that, sell on ebay.
