Can anyone recommend a mother board to go with the following chips please (if you could give me a quick link number from dabs that would be really useful as well as I'm getting the basic price of the system from there)

Arrow P4 2.8 with 533 fsb
Arrow P4 3 with 800 fsb
Arrow Athlon XP 3200

My only requirement of the board is that it has audio on, not looking for anything flash just a board that will work well with the chip.

Any help appreciated. Karma

Please note I don't mean one board to work with every chip. Laughing

One board for one chip will do nicely, so 2/3 boards in total.

I use that with my P4 2.8Ghz. Never had any problems. Using Corsair TwinX PC3200 RAM on it, recommended by Asus to use with their board.

EDIT: Sorry I just noticed you said 2.8 533fsb. That would be 2.8 800fsb. Ignore me then... Razz

Goto Scan - they group their motherboards into categories which makes choosing between them easy. Don't bother with the Intel option - go with AMD and preferably an Nforce 2 mothboard which is much cheaper than a P4 solution.

Can't recommend a particular type of motherboard. I got a SFF computer with custom fit motherboard (nforce 2) and have had no problems at all.

Scan Thumbs Down . Double ordered because their site was being crap.
Rang them to tell them. No problem, we'll get it sorted.
Rang them when I got two emails. No problem, we'll get it sorted.
Rang them when I got another two emails. No problem, we'll get it sorted, just refuse one lot of goods when it's delivered.
Rang them when I refused goods. Gotta check the goods first. Erm, but they're new, I aint opened them.
Repeat for two months, while having bugger all money.
Get lied to lots.
Get refund over 3 months later.

Hi

Also try https://www.overclockers.co.uk

Ebuyer seem OK, except they deliver by Shity Link. I would pay more to have it delivered by the post office.

All the best

Scan, my experiance with them have been pretty much the same as G's, they completly lost one of my orders too, and still charged me for it. Took a good few weeks to sort. Thumbs Down

Ebuyer seem to sell some dodgy components at times. Sold me an AMD 2600+ and my system was performing really badly with it, tried a friends one that he got from www.overclockers.co.uk and the system performance increases substantially. Same thing has happened to some other friends too. Thumbs Down

I used overclockers.co.uk When my things were delivered there was damage to one of the optical drives. Called them and they said they would send me one out right away. This was about 4:30 in the afternoon got a replacement drive with the posty first thing the next morning before the damaged one had been collected. Great service won’t use anyone else now.
