Alpine Motosafe Ear plugs

Has anybody used these? Like the idea of reusable and long lasting plugs. Seem good long term value at £17.

Seems a bit silly to buy long lasting earplugs. I got some decent branded disposables (they last ages anyway) for £7.50 for 50 pairs off fleabay... Got to be at least 2 years worth there!

I've just bought some similar tree shaped earplugs with those sticky-outy posts, and I'll be damned if I can figure out how to get them to stay in my ears as I'm pulling the lid on.

I use Howard Leight Max Lite. I get a box of 200 for about £15, and I tend to keep a set for a day. I don't think I use my bike 200 days a year, so it should last me a helluva long time. Plus if they get dirty I throw them away.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

The motosafes are not bad, actually. I put them on a par with most disposable foam types and slightly below the R&G custom moulded ones.

If you want reusable ones you should take a look at the R&G ones too though, really good and easy to make

I use disposables, use them about 2 or 3 times then bin em. Bought a ton of them from ebay a few years ago for about £15 still got most of the bag full left

The Alpine plugs are great when new, but after a couple of months they seem to soften up and are fairly useless. Just be prepared to replace them.

I've used the alpines for a couple of years and ~20,000 miles.


I love them, I get 4-6 months out of a set used daily on my commute (60 miles each way) they completely cut the noise of my exhaust down to background, but still let me hear enough of what's going on. They also kill wind noise. With them in I can ride long days with no issues, without them I feel like I've had a beating after a long day on the bike.

I am absolutely converted to them and will need a lot of convincing to change to anything else.

I have a pair of (MotoGP rebranded) MotoSafe earplugs that I've used occasionally over the last few years.
TBH I only tend to use them for longer motorway/touring trips, but they're definately worthwhile IMO

For the record, I've also got a selection of disposables (mainly for pillions), but I found that they're about as much use for me as an ear full of swimming pool water

I have the Alpines and I love them. Probably not as good as custom made but far better (imo) than the foam disposable type which feel like they're far too big for my ear and makes it sound like I'm underwater. The Alpines however are extremely comfy and I can wear them all day long without a problem. I've only used mine for about 3000 miles though, but had no problems so far.
