I use my Senheisser CX300-I at the moment but feel they lose some of their bass with my helmet on and also I need to have them up full to get a good volume/clarity from them.

I only ride with 1 in though so I can stil hear everything. Can anyone recommend a really good pair that are comfortable with a helmet on but still giving great quality?

Rode for months like it whilst commuting and filtering. Only stopped because I lost my headphones and can't be bothered to buy more.

Have done for over a year now - earphones or earplugs at all times.

At 55+ (I realise this may not be such an issue on 125's) I find you can hear bugger all over the wind noise anyway. I can hear other cars and my own bike better with earplugs in than out because they block the wind noise.

On longer motorway journeys, having some music stops me from getting bored and therefore sleepy.

To answer OP's question, I buy cheap in-ear headphones from argos/similar with memory foam rather than rubber inserts. I find the memory foam means they're comfortable pretty much indefinitely.

I ride the way I like it. If I wanna ride with my headphones blasting - I do. And there's fuck all anyone can do about that. If you have a radio/CD whatever in you car - don't you use it???

On it: I use Scala Rider. Mint piece of equipment. Bluetooth headset, with built in FM radio, mp3 stream and phone calls, pillion chat, the business. Water and dust resistant. Downside: not very loud and pricey Rolling Eyes

I tend not to ride with earphones any more. I tried using a wired mobile headset in the past, but the sound and clarity was terrible, and I felt that it was an unneccessary distraction for me.

At least now on the bike, if I miss a call I can honestly say that I didn't hear it ringing

This is utter bullshit. A great deal of people on this forum have exhaust noise that would drown out a Jumbo Jet. I can't see a problem riding with headphones in, you don't have to turn it all the way up, it reduces wind noise (so you don't have to wear earplugs) and SHOULD push you to keep both eyes on the road and your surroundings.

If you're influenced by music when you ride, then maybe you shouldn't listen to it, granted, but for the majority it's a non-issue. Just get some that fit deep in your ear.

Paddy's GSXR750 exhaust. I could barely even hear my own bike. Laughing

It may have been the cause behind one or two spirited rides, I have to admit. Twisted Evil

For the most part though, I actually think that the right kind of music aids towards you keeping your concentration on the road and riding well.

I just use my blackberry headphones and plugged into my phone.

I never use head phones under the following circumstances as i find it it affects my concentration. Makes a huge difference to my riding response I find

riding gravel
riding in in traffic when Im lane splitting

On the open road at 120 kmh+ if I dont have head phones on while riding the KTM I use ear plugs

If you've got a commute of more than half an hour it would drive me crazy not having anything to listen to.
To answer OP question, I bought some cheap JVC gummy headphones off Amazon that held up for a good six months until I got them caught around something and it ripped the wire out, been using Ipod ones since then.

Im busy listening to my brain telling me that moron is going to trun right, right across my path, that bimbo is going to switch lanes without checking her mirror except to check her hair, that old tannie is going to brake for no reason at all, that black taxi is going to suddenly cut across all the lanes for that passenger, that ou is going to chuck his cool drink bottle out the window....

And my bike is telling me, hey fokker, twist the throttle a bit and give me my head...

Between all this flood of info and noise, who wants to add music as well? Laughing

oh hell no. Black taxis even have their own associations and political clout. We weven have a SABTACO, black techincal association, a black lawyers association, a black journalists association etc. Whitey not welcome.

Anyhting is OK except a whites only something.

I guess you can google SABTA. South african black taxi association. But if whitey made a SA White taxi association i guess we would be at war again and have sanctions back.

What is BEE and AA but a reverse of a job job offer ' europeans only'.

So can us whiteys expect sanctions against darkies, aid, and arms to overthrow racism any time soon? Laughing

Ai, europeans wanted the new uganda, they got idi amin, they wanted the end of rhodesia and a zimbabwe, they got mugabe, they wanted the ended the end of whitey in SA they are getting zuma and malema. No figuring the naivety of liberalism. It has left a trail of disaster.

My exhaust didn't allow me to listen to music.

I always listen to music when I have earphones...but usually after I've owned the bike for a week or two to get a feel for the odd noises.

Thank you for the wise words. I guess that's all the police and advanced riders screwed then. I really don't know how they stay alive Shocked

On topic...

As I have put in other threads on this topic. I find the flat in helmet ones the best. Can still wear ear plugs too if needed. No problems and fiddling when getting helmet on/off either. Got a decent pair of in-ear for off the bike, no big issue.

For example there's these for £10 from play.com...
https://p.playserver1.com/ProductImages/5/6/8/8/7/4/9/1/19478865_180x180_1.jpg

or these from amazon.co.uk for £20 (look similar)...

and if you do a google or search eBay there may be others.

Hope this helps Thumbs Up

Wow, that was very helpfull information, thanks for the input... However, I would like to ask you a question... Does this have anything to do with what I actually asked? Did I at any time ask anything of this sort - "What are your opinions of people riding with headphones playing music?", Answer - No.

Anyway, Map, that's helpfully thank you. And at that price they're at least worth a punt and seeing how they do. I prefer the idea of In-ear but I might give those a try.

These

Cheap, good sound quality, Good bass... (all depending on the quality your phone or what ever can put out)

I got 3 different size rubber ear buds with mine.

They barely stick out like some of the other in-ear ones, so makes getting them on with your helmet easy, the rubber bud forms a seal around the inside of your ear which cancels out wind noise quite considerably.

I've tried various different headphones, - i've currently got some CX300's, a pair of Bose earphones, and these below - Veho Qubve VEP-002's. The Veho's cost about £10 and out perform the Bose hands down for using under my lid on the bike, much comfier, louder and the base is brilliant - cant recommend enough, and for the price they're a bargain.

Ear plugs were all I would wear,my bike wasnt a commuter and wasnt riden like one. Always felt more ccomfortable hearing the engine and allowed me to know what gear I was in by comparing to speed. I wasn,t adverse to a bit of singing though
