got two interviews lined up, first one i applied for nearly two months ago and as I hadnt heard anything after a couple of weeks I binned the details, now I have no idea what the position is for other than its do do with admin for the project engineer. I know a fair bit about the company and realised that my mother worked for their main site about 25 years ago after id done some homework on the business.
Do i sit and hope they mention the job title or what?

Here's my suggestion:-
Telephone the HR department (or whoever is giving you the interview if too small a company to have HR dept.).
Just confirm the interview date and time and also if they could confirm the job role and specification.

So that way you hopefully don't look/sound like a waste of time.

I mention this as a friend of mine went for one job interview and discovered that they were also recruiting for another role that he was also qualified for. In the end they offered him the other job.

Best of luck Thumbs Up

I've done the same previously, and ended up being interviewed for a completely different job than I thought. I must have answered really well and seemed completely confident, because I got the job. Laughing

As it is, since then, I always keep a small file with all job letters / applications for a very long time afterwards...just in case this sort of thing occurs. Thumbs Up

I can not believe what happened and I expect a few face palms and piss taking. I got the date mixed up. A perfect example of how things are so hectic at work that a memo I got with the wrong date led me to miss the interview.

One of the reasons im looking for another job is the amount of additional work we are having to deal with as they wont recruit to replace staff who have already headed for the hills. The forgetting what day it is isnt uncommon but no excuse. The workload is becoming unatainable for us and stress levels really high.

I had to contact the guy who was supposed to be interviewing me,apologise profusely and convince him to give me another chance which he has. Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

The other interview that I didnt forget about seemed to go very well but I guess Id best be really on the ball with my second chance on this one Monday.
