Has anyone tried the Baldock - Buntingford road? Ive heard its rather fun.
Going up there at weekend.
Wondering whether it really is a route to zipp around or a tad dangerous.

Hmm, clicked on the West Midlands and none of the areas on the roads mentioned are in the West Mids. Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire but I can't actually see any here.

I will take comfort in the fact that all the roads by me must be completely safe! Wink

Checked out the East Midlands, but don't recognise any of the ones in the list - but then I'm new up this way (Southerner - and missing my dear South Crying or Very sad ).

Anyhow, I noticed that the roundabouts all along the A610 aren't on there. Goodness knows who designed the roads around here, but every road that I've been on around the outskirts of Nottingham is appaling in layout. 2 lanes become 3, become 2, become 3, become 1 - without any kind of warning or logic. Then to top it off, roundabouts around here are deadly... I miss the simple to understand and much safer roundabouts of the south (with the exception of Grensted roundabout near Colchester - which is crazy what with being able to go around it in both directions...)

Any how - Notts council, sort out the roads here, please (or let my fiancee decide that the South is worth trying out Laughing

A1, M25, A406, A13 - I've ridden all of them... No wonder my life expectancy is to 35!

Now where did I put that life insurance policy...

Interesting to see the junction I use everyday in London rated as No. 12 most dangerous road in the country! It is a case of going through there at around 15mph, feet off the pegs, full beams! It is made worse by the idiots in their BMW's or Mercs, with their ears stuck to mobile phones, who just switch lane not thinking a bike could be filtering! Evil or Very Mad

So when do our lethal Scottish B roads around Inverness come into the equation!?

Or, is a report on the most dangerous roads due to high traffic volumes rather than dangerous because of the road itself?

Do you get my drift?

Mark

Nah, they make far too much money from the cameras, and if they sorted the roads out their excuse for the cameras would disappear.

Worst junctions I know of are a couple of the A52 out of Derby. One just before Pentagon Island, and one just going through Spondon.

All the best

Keith
