I have a bent frame on my zx12 and I have a frame shop that will straighten it if I can get them the specs on what the original frame should be. Can anybody help me out?

I wouldn't fancy a straightened frame on a zx12 as it is also the airbox and is such a unique design that I wouldn't fancy straightening or stressing any of the welds etc. but....

I have a workshop manual but I doubt if that is any good

try asking here if anyone else has done it

www.200mph.org (when Egg finally gets the new server running)

or

www.zx-12r.org

or

in the zx12r forum on www.labusas.org

the American forums are ususally pretty good for tech help as there are lots more of them than us and someone has usually done stuff before us

in fact if you are in the uk and have just aquired the world's fastest production roadbike you may like to pop over to www.200mph.org anyway and help me out with all the busa jockeys who think that the buggly is faster Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing

good luck, you may find a second hand frame is a better proposition

When I've been looking around at frames, it seems that a brand new frame for the ZX6 and ZX9 can be got for around £600 inc Vat. That's a lot less than a second hand frame and may well be similar to the cost of straightening, depending on how much work you want to do stripping the bike if required.
Obviosuly the ZX12 frame may well be more, you'd have to get it officially stamped with your frame number, but as you've got a v5 in the first place that shouldn't be a prob I presume.

remember the zx12 is not a frame in the conventional sense, it is a huge monocoque over the top and down the back of the engine and contains the airbox

I'd not be happy having it straightened

no idea what a new frame would cost
