Very HappyI'm 17 and am planning on taking my CBT some time this year. I will obviously need a bike and have seen a second hand Kawasaki ZX9R for £2000 and am intered in purchasing it. It will however not be road legal for me. I was thinking of putting a restrictor on it so i can meet the requirements by law but i need to know whether this is worth it. I don't know if it is possible to put such restrictions on this bike and also how much it will affect the bike. I need to limit it to 125cc and 15bhp ( as i expect you know) Is this wise?

Any help given will be much appreciated
Mr. Green

It aint gonna happen. Sorry.

There is no possible way of restricting a 900cc bike to 125cc. Unfortunately that is about as feasible as Tony Blair telling us that the war on Iraq was about oil.

Buy a 125, thats what they are there for! Thumbs Up

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Laughing

As Mark says, it won't happen.

Ring around for some insurance quotes, say your are 17, have a CBT and want to insure a ZX9R. Just before a *click* and the line going dead, you may hear them laughing.

Even on a full licence you're not really going to want to insure a ZX9R before you are 21.

Spend < £1,000 on a 125 and do it the same way as everyone else. Smile
