Just a quickie, anyone used Redex in the fuel? Any good?

never used it myself but everyone i speak to says dont use it. something about removing carbon and making the bike smoke...

I put redex in my tank once in a while. Doesn't harm a healthy bike at all.

I've used it, generally chuck some super unleaded in there too just to help it along.
Don't buy the performance shit though. Its crap and super unleaded has a higher octane level than Red-ex performance stuff and normal petrol together.

I wouldn't

it cleans the carbon off well, so well that I had to remove the head off my bike and grind the valves in again, as the carbon it removed was the only thing sealing them

I think its a placebo tbh. Ive used it on a gpz500s and didnt notice any difference except more white smoke for a bit when I put too much in

hi dudes,

next time your carb is apart, try putting the jets in neat redex fuel system cleaner, jets submerged, goes in like cherryaide, comes out like coke and the jets are clean.

Ive used redex for fuel injection on my cars every now and then, it works ok the first time when you need to clean injectors up if they havn't ever been cleaned before, but as mentioned above, running some decent fuel through it will help out a lot as well.
