I have a dish on the house and basic satellite receiver.

Question is, If i get hold of a sky box will i get more channels?

If so, what box would I need, does it need a card of some sort and is anyone flogging one?

A Sky box without a Sky card will work as a basic Freesat box - ie no access to the hard disc.

I think you still need a card from sky to still make it freesat, costs about £20, you still wont be able to record.

No card needed, although you don't get as many channels as you get on freesat. And yes, there is no ability to use the hard drive.

Plus 6 months half price for all new customers on top of the cash back....

If you don't have a viewing card you get very few channels. Get a freesat from sky viewing card and you will get significantly more channels than you get on freeview
