An old trick for chrome is rubbing it with a handful of tinfoil.
Or you could buy chrome cleaner (Yes there is such a thing).
Brakes sticking.
Buy some Brake Cleaner it helps dissolve baked-on brake dust. (They sometimes call it Break Cleaner on here though.) Remove the callipers and slosh the break cleaner around the pistons. Use a artists brush/small toothbrush to work the cleaner into the grime. Maybe need to scrape the stubborn stuff off with the end of the brush. Resist using a screwdriver as you risk puncturing the rubber gator around the piston (Which is just not cricket for the next owner.)
Hoi the calliper back on fit the pads with a little smear of copper-slip on the metal back. Pump the brake lever to set the pads on the discs again. And Robert is the bloke who is shaggin' yer aunty. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |
