think my bikes suffering from fuel starvation , it cuts out after being run for a while and if left for a few minutes will start up and do exactly the same thing

im guessing this is fuel starvation because it seems the carbs getting emptied then when the float bowl fills up again it will start ?

things i know , carb is clean, first thing i did when it broke down , float is the correct height checked it just days before this happened

any ideas ? what i could check

when i take the plug out its not completely dry it is a tad wet apart form fuel starvation i dont have a clue ? im going to run the bike till it dies and take the carb of to ceck if there's any fuel in there , kind of limited by torrential rain at the moment though, on a 2 stroke 125 btw

cheers

Are the tank breather hoses blocked?

After its cut out, open the tank, if you hear air hissing in you have your answer.

Thumbs Up

Check you are getting fuel to the carbs. Is your fuel tap operated manually or by a vacuum?

You should have two rubber hoses going from the fuel tap is its operated by a vacuum. One should go to to the carbs, and one should connect around the inlet port. Make sure they are both on correctly.

If you create a vacuum on the lower of the hoses, you should see fuel flowing through the other one.

if its only a slow trickle, check your fuel filter. If none at all, your tap may be in need of replacement.

The wet plug sounds like the bike is running rich, check your air filter.

What bike do you have?

I just had the same problem. I know my fuel tap was faulty so I replaced that as well but I stripped my old cap down and it was pretty blocked up.

So replaced the fuel cap as well and now the problem is solved Thumbs Up It appears there is some hissing now occasionally which I never heard before so I guess there is your answer Thumbs Up

Check to see if its dirty.
If its to dirty and clogged it can affect the fuel air mix making it run rich

When was the filter last checked? How many miles has the bike done

Which one of these does your spark plug look like?

looks more like fuel fouled to be honest

spark plugs less than 50 miles old though so its kind of hard to tell

ill give the air filter a clean then see if it helps

mileage is lowish and compressions good had new rings a few thousand ago so i doubt that has anything to do with it
