Bandit 600 carbs might be a touch small for a gsxr750 motor.

How does it run at the moment? What model year gsxr is the motor from?

Sounds as though the main jets are way too small. As you are using bandit 600 carbs on a 750gixer the only way to get correct carburation is trial and error .

I looked into this a few years back and was told to use the 750 carbs. My donor engine was going to be the 750 teapot, More or less the same engine. You should get a set of teapot carbs a lot cheaper that the gsxr if need be. If the bandit 600 carbs are the same bar the jets you would be better looking to download the 750 manual. Shame as i not long got rid of one that was going for free.

A quick google says the 89 gsxr has 36mm carbs and 115 main jets as standard. That is the same as my kwak 750 with standard airbox and filter.

with cone filters you will need bigger jets , youll need to increase the sizes of the other jets too if you want it running perfectly , you should just get some 750 carbs it will be alot less hassle alot better for ypour engine and you will get a slight power increase

The 1986 model ran 29mm flatslides. So the B6 carbs will run it fine once setup.

(the 1989 model runs TOTALLY different carburettors to the 85-88 models).

If you are running individual pod filters you will need MUCH bigger mainjets. I would guess going from the stock 110 or so to more like 130-140.

(I've owned a couple of GSXR1100s and a 7/11)

thanks for that main jets on B6 1&3 are 100 and 2&4 98 or other way round so how would i sort that out or how much would i up them to?
as you said up them to 130-140 so should i up them 30 or 40 more and see what comes frm them?

As i said i have a different 750 bike but its mikuni 36mm carbs and when i got the bike it had cone filters and the jets were 155. I dont know how it ran as it was a non runner when i got it but as said, start around 140-145 to see how you go.

Same jets in all 4 carbies.

It should start and idle ok, it may need the idle screw to be turned out a bit.
