Well, if they weren't fucked before from the previous owner running shot fork seals for a prolonged period, they are now.

Anyone got any tips on getting the lower back over the stanchion?

I can't get the Teflon coated bush (the one on the bottom of the stanchion) inside the leg, through the other bush. It came out that way, but won't go back!

So, they're knackered anyway, how do I remove the bush in the leg?

with great difficulty? as far as i was aware the bottom stanchion bush shouldn't come out under the leg bush, and is normally used to "hammer" out the bottom leg bush.
