Spotted these two jobs in Brighton:

Assistant Marina Manager - responsibility for operational and admin aspects of operating the largest UK marina. Applicants will need to demonstrate a proven track record of exemplary customer service, communication skills. Previous experience in a supervisory role is essential along with the ability to demo strong leadership skills. H&S understanding & awareness is desirable. The role requires working within a rota system, incl. some b/hols and weekends.

Boatyard Supervisor - Leading an experienced team on all aspects of the operation, focussing on excellent customer skills, H&S, training. Need communication skills and supervisory skills. Experience of boat handling, lifting and associated equipment would be an advantage. Challenging role working outdoors in all weather conditions on a rota system including alternate Saturdays.

Both roles offer an excellent benefits package, incl. pension and private health care after a qualifying period.

I hate that too, I once responded to the question about what I had in mind salary wise and i said I wouldnt say no to 100k a year and a company aston martin. They laughed but I got the job but had to make do with considerably less Rolling Eyes

How much were the last people paid?
Stick some more on to allow for raging inflation and that's the wage you should be advertising.

I hate how people are expected to prostitute themselves like this.
If they specified a salary then potential applicants might know not to waste their time by applying for yet another "meets minimum wage" job. Evil or Very Mad


It's sort-of standard for job ads.

If you don't fancy the job then you do not need to apply.

No maths in that.

Exactly.
Plus this attitude might be why employers are keen to employ older people or those from overseas, rather than home-grown potentials, these days.

A lot the youngsters these days want to be celebrities and get paid a whack a week for little input. Rolling Eyes
