Wondering if anyone else has trouble with Givi pannier keys breaking? I've got a set of E21 panniers and have just gone through the 4 keys which originally came with them, so needed to drill out the barrels to fit a new set...
Now I find the keys they give incredibly brittle they tend to snap without you even realising they're about to go (they appear to be brass with a coating.)
So am just wondering if anyone has tried to get stronger keys cut for them? I tried Timpson the other day and they told me they wouldn't have anything stronger than the orginals...

Rather then replace all the locks I drilled a small hole at the top of the key and slipped it onto my key ring, now it's much smaller to carry and the metal ring should last much longer!

The keys break because the locks needs spraying out with WD40 due to dirt ingress or you are cackhanded. I used to try to do this once every few weeks in the winter of if the weather was wet.

To remove broken keys from Givi locks just use two needles, one on either of the sides with the cut outs to extract the broken part.
