Very neat bike, how much did you get it for?

Looking into a VFR800 for my first bike over 125cc.

Tut Tut That's not a VFR, nor an 800.

It's a VTR 1000 Firestorm Very Happy

I was looking at some scorpion cans on egay and they went for 150 so i'll probably be replacing the original cans.
The owner had race cans on it but didn't like the noise so he put the stock ones on again and sold the race cans lol

I'm not going to say how much i'm paying for it yet because you'll all turn blue with envy Razz
I can tell you i'm almost stealing it though.

Can't afford one.
I was originally looking for a fireblade, gsxr750, cbr600 or a ninja when i stumbled upon one of these at the local garage who has a few bikes outside.
I fell in love with it and went straight on ebay/autotrader looking for a "better" price as £1800 seemed a bit steep to me Razz

I may upgrade in a year or 2 but this will do for now.
I still want a gixxer750 for the weekend hoons though so will start saving again lol

Nah i kinda like it. Might get a yellow screen to match.

What it needs is a few smiley face stickers on it!

Well. Just came back from picking it up.
I love it. Only thing i don't like is the rev limiter. That's going to take a little getting used to. Gears seem so short compared to the gixxer.

Now that i've got it i can say that i paid £899 for it.
it looks spotless except for a few little marks which i'd expect from a 12 year old bike.

I'm very happy with it.
Now all the fun begins. Starting tomorrow!

Do you know if the CCTs have been changed or still stock? Maybe the engine is about to go bang and the previous owner knew this? Unless you have done so, get it checked over.

Bloody bargain none the less though! Great find!

I don't even know what a CCT is.
is it anything like a philangi? I know it's bad if planes have no philangi's!

You twat, copying me and everything!
Front CCT's fail meaning your in need of a new set of valves etc, condensation in the tensioner, just pop a long bolt in with a nut to lock it down, so if it fails it cant go back meaning no smashed valves.

I have no idea what you just said about the CCT. How can i tell if it's on the way out?
There's no knocking or strange sounds from the engine either on idle or when revved.

And on the numb hands issue. Not so much. Pretty much same as when riding my old gixxer.
Did stop for a coffee on the way back though and to stretch my legs Smile

Not sure i've seen your bike... Same model/colour?

It wasnt running right, but does now.
Steal at £1000 tbh, i need to sort a few little things out and complete my write up on it. The lady doesn't like wheelies so its a bit of a dull ride when carrying her.
