Hey everyone...

Where do you think's the best place to get an ACU License (live in SE London), and how much does it normally cost?

Cheers,

doesnt really matter on where you are (if you're in england) as you have to go to rugby/darley moor for the CTC anyway.

just phone up the ACU and they'll tell you what you need to do.

in short:

1. get application (road race for track riding. or if you want to do motocross etc.. its track race)
2. do CTC course
3. join racing club (you can join darley when you go for the CTC and kill 2 birds with one stone) - you will need to join every club you wish to race at. for brands etc.. you'll need BEMSEE
4. get an eye test
5. take passport photo
6. have road licence or do track course
7. fill out and send application off with photocopies of stuff above.
8. ...
9. profit

if you have a full road licence you can apply for an intermediate novice (if you're over 18) if not it'll be novice and you'll need to do a track test to prove you can ride a bike.

you just go down there with the application and say 'im applying for a race licence, id like an eye test'

its basically the same test but they'll need to confirm your colour range and perform a peripheral check as well.

no probs Smile

id actually forgotten to tell you how much..

off the top of my head..

£30 for CTC course
£43 for ACU application/licence (you get a free noobie vest with 1st licence)
and costs vary per club for membership. £10-20 ish

runs from 1st jan to 31st dec. have to renewed each year although you only need the eye test every 3yrs.
