I passed car test in97 at 17 and have had 2 cars since till 2000 when i decided that i didnt need one anymore, as i can walk to work now. I have got 2 bikes a 2000 kwak ZX6R, and a 2001 Speedfight 100. I thought that with 2 bikes i would never need to use a car, but im insured to drive me mums car, and i have been using it a fair bit over the winter when it was too cold for riding a bike. Im gonna keep both bikes, but hopfully next yr ill have enough to buy a car as well, if i decide that i really need one that is. If i do then i quite fancy a Honda Prelude, or Nissan 200sx, subject to insurance that is.

Hi

Got a few cars as well. Main 4 wheel transport is a lhd 1.3 Alfa 33, that I picked up as a cheap runabout when I worked in Belgium. Better half has a Renault Clio Zoom (anyone want one?) and a Maserati 222 (250hp, 2.8L twin turbo V6). Have my old rhd 4wd 33 waiting for me to finish fixing it (wrecked engine driving through a puddle), plus a kit car to build

All the best

Keith

Maybe, but now you know why we are always broke. Even the oil bill gets frightening (we picked some up yesterday, £160 worth for 16L of fully synthetic 5w40, 20L of semi synthetic 10w40 and 20L of antifreeze), with all the oil changes

After riding a bike you rapidly get disenchanted with anything that doesnt rev. Or as one guy I know put it, anyone who rides a bike either has a very quick car or a dog slow one (ie, never going to be as quick as a bike, so go for cheapness).

All the best

Are you gonna go comercial with the flying?
My mum's got her PPL and I got about half way though mine but have moved away and haven't done anything towards it for ages now.

I can't do comercial because I'm slightly colour blind... I passed for flying privatley at night but wouldn't for comercial. Unfortunatley the nearest airfied to me is pretty expensive. I was considering going to the US to finish it off but it's all a matter of time, of which I don't have much at the moment :(.

My mum did some work (education realted) at Duxford and was gonna try and blag a go in a two-seater spitfire... don't think she ever got the chance though.

And Keith did i hear you say something about a PPL? U got one, or going for one or something?

I wish. Too much money to get a PPL. Havent done any real flying since I was in the air cadets years ago.

Oh, the RAF have loads of people wanting to join as pilots, so they just can make the rules as strict as they like. Being as blind as bat without glasses counted me out!

Problem is a PPL will get you nowhere. Your gonna have to dish out about £30k+ for a CPL before you even get near flying for a living or flying anything bigger than a Cessna.
My bastard friend just arrived back from Florida with a CAA PPL and night rating. I thinks ill be pestering him to bring me up every sunny day now!
