Hi all,

I have a 2007 Ybr and the engine and exhaust have been neglected by the previous owner. There is fading on the area below the engine where it is down to white plastic too.

Is there anyway to bring this back to its former glory without taking it all apart, any paints recommended, or a better way to restore the chrome?

Thanks all

I have always found that the best paint for engine and exhausts is either barbecue or woodstove black.. no priming required.. available in satin or matt.. "Plasticote" gives a good finish and if it chips or peels you just keep a spare tin to spray over it.. forget the paints that are sold AS engine /exhaust paint because i haven't come across ONE yet that doesn't burn off !

Thumbs up for barbecue or stove paint. It's always worked for me.
£4-5 for a spray can in B&Q.

Hammerite is also good if it's beginning to corrode, sometimes on mine heatproof paint can flake or dust off, hammerite can cure this.
