If you were going to do A2 and get a 250 ninja, and only decided to do the DAS because it was the same price, why do you now definitely want a sportsbike?
Just for the sake of it?
I think jumping on a sportsbike with no real experience would be lunacy. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
By all means do the DAS but I'd buy something cheap and sensible in your first year, cheaper insurance, and you will build experience with less chance of killing yourself |

Your right hand is the restrictor. If you "can't trust yourself", then Pistonheads would like to hear from you.
Why get a sportsbike to ride it slowly though?
If you've just after the looks, how about this?

GS500F. Do DAS, get one of those, upgrade if and when you feel ready. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
