Get the back end in the air; check the spokes.
Check the shock linkage. Believe they have plastic bushes in there, could be one broke down, which would explain teh crack, though the 'crack' is what makes me say check your spokes.
Shock?
Shouldn't be leaking oil; get it swapped.
OH, forgot. Crack & spokes. & Honda trailie wheels.
Spokes can snap, and you often cant see where, usually they go at the bend before they go through the bub, and can take some waggling to find a cracked one, but sound is like a pistol shot.
Other place they can go is at the nipple; they can strip out ofthe threads through fretting them away, so you get sudden release of tension making pistol crack sound when they go, but still inside nipple, they just feel a bit loose and you wont see a break.
BUT on Honda trailie rims, & seem to recall it being a known problem on Dommies & Transalps, the 'rims' give and the nipple pulls through the nipple hole, and I ALSO think that its a funny double section, so they may only pull through the inner layer of metal, and leave teh nipple wedged inside the hollow of the two 'skins'. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

That's easily sorted by just whipping the wheel of and having a gander. Should be obvious if a bearing has gone or not. Espesh if its shat itself inside the hub. |
