I got a Frank Thomas xti 2 piece and matching gloves from j&s, they're ok, comfy, fit well, good armour but the stitching on the right glove came open after about a fortnight, took em back and got them replaced, the zip also broke on the trousers, but that may be down to my fingers of butter and fists of ham. Only paid £280 for the lot because it was the xti 1 and the xti2 just came out so they were clearing stock. Overall they do the job but for my next set of leathers I'll certainly look towards an A* set.

My verdict-good for the price.

I'm looking at the IXS Desert Fox jacket and pants. £199 for the jacket and £160 for the pants. They are spot on and you can remove the thermal liner and zip them together. They come in 3 different colours - cream light grey and black. saw them in J&S Oakmere shop. Also RST do a similar jacket and pants, but only come in dark grey and they are slightly dearer.

Personally, I have found everything with the Frank Thomas brand on it to be cheaply made crap. After FT group went under and J&S bought the brand name I have not had anything through in order for me to see if things have improved, initially though i assume that they are selling off their existing (old) stock.

I would only part with cash for it on the basis that you expect it to fall apart pretty quickly and be replaced for better kit down the line.

Conversely, one of my reviewers loved her FT gloves, they didnt come apart so perhaps I am just tough on my gear?

RST is usually much better made and for similar money, worth a look
