Hi guys,

I'm looking to get a bike again after selling my hornet a year ago. Basically I'm looking at either a streetfighter or a sports bike and can't decide which (so any advice here would help!). I guess typically my commute/riding would consist of a bit of motorway, town riding and twisty roads.

Anyway, my main question was that some of the streetfighters for sale are from really old sports bikes (eg 92 blades) that look good, have low mileage etc. But 1992? Thats really old. How do they compare to something ten years younger? Is there much in it? Obviously price is the main issue, but I don't want to spend out a load of money on something that handles badly, when I could save up for a bit longer and get something nicer and younger.

Cheers!

Hmmmm....
Are you planning on racing the thing?
Are you one of the 1%ers with the razor-refleces and miraculouse motor control of national or world championship caliber?
If not, then the difference in 'handling' between a 92 'Blade and a 2002 Blade or even a 2012 Blade, I DONT really think is so manifestly large as to be here nor there, and certainly not something you would be likely be able to exploit any advantage on UK public roads very often.

20 years old? Things have not moved on that much in that arena in that time, and they haven't made the quantum 'leaps' they did in the two decades before.

Fifteen years ago, comparing a 1992 Fire-blade to a 1986, CBR100 and that to a 1982 CB900FII, maybe.... NOT now.

Great, that's exactly what I hoped someone would say! Cheers.
