No HPI Data on this

Just wondered if anyone can advise how much concern I should have about a bike that shows up as having no data when I checked the reg at mymotorcyclecheck.com, although the seller says it's been kept in a spare room for 26 years. First registered 1980 and 4700 on the clock. Haven't quizzed the seller yet, and would need to go see it pretty soon.

do the ebay HPI check and see, some don't come up on records as they have been off the road for so long, but do another HPI check elsewhere.

Is that really a special CB250? Did Honda even do a special?! Doesn't look like a ltd edition at all.

26yrs ago mate, those of us who could, were tapping away on ZX81's. So I wouldn't give 2 hoots if info from way back then isn't on someone's money making database.

Basic & very simple research tells me that the bike was first registered on the 15/09/1980, the last road tax expired on the 01/06/1983. I might be paranoid but there is math in there somewhere that simply does not add up.

I wouldn't touch it with someone else's bargepole, it's already at £690 with 4 days to go. It looks hideous, which is probably why someone parked it up & if it's been there for . . . & that math doesn't add up either . . . . then it will still need loads of £wonga spending on it before it can become a practical bike once more
