 |
|
Hi, after looking at armoured jackets on eBay and gumtree, I'm considering getting a 2nd hand one to save money
Obviously If it's not a good fit I'm screwed....
I'm about 5'10 with a 34 Chest
In jeans I normally wear 30 waist (I'm skinny)
Any ideas what size that would be? I tried small/med on at a shop a while back....
£40 for an A* seems amazing |

Sizes differ across the brands, one medium may be completely different to others, a 34 chest would probably put you in small/medium for most though - I suspect closer to small.
Are you talking about textile or leather?
The only thing I would say is that with your chest size you might want to try a few on before you take the plunge on ebay/elsewhere, you are average height and usually, most clothes scale sizes with height. ____________________ https://bikechatter.net

Fortunately, textiles are usually considered less critical to fit as you are essentially passing off the protection found in leather for the addition of waterproofing. Most people I know who buy textiles go for a size larger than normal to fit in the extra padding that comes with drop liners and thermals. ____________________ https://bikechatter.net

Chest size would be small, but height would be medium. That's a tricky one.
I'd suggest going for a small size but in a longer style than you're actually looking for, i.e. if you really want a short style, go for a "small" 3/4 length styled jacket, or if you want 3/4 length, get a full length. Better to have it come out a bit long than a bit short.
What bunglehaze said though: if you're getting one jacket for year round use, get a medium in your desired length (with removable liner) to give plenty of room to stuff thermals under it in winter.
Of course, definitions of short, 3/4 and full length are all entirely subjective anyway. Best of luck. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
