Well after 2 cancellations due to God farting I passed my Mod 1 last week. That was an experience in itself.

Through practicing I was crap on the slow speed stuff and good on the high speed stuff. On the actual Mod 1 it completely flipped. Slow stuff seemed so easy.
Then it was the high speed stuff. I think I had got so used to the practice yard layout I so nearly fu**ed it all up. On the practice yard there isn't really a curve, more a hairpin so the run up to the speed check zone is longer. I had got into a routine of going round hairpin, accelerate in 2nd, shift into 3rd, check speed and then adjust accordingly.
On the actual site I just didn't have time to do that, well not in the normal way I was used to.
So on the 1st emergency stop, speed = 47kph Sad
2nd attempt I knew I needed just a tad more speed. Me being me, that meant 62kph for the 2nd attempt ooooops Embarassed . I stopped just in time (by the skin of my teeth he said).
So final one, the swerve, I am pretty sure I wasn't going fast enough. I stopped and looked at him, he looked pretty stern after looking at his gadget.

So off I went into the debriefing room pretty sure I had failed.................. but I passed Shocked he said I was 51kph on the swerve. I'm pretty sure I wasn't.

So that leads me to today, Mod 2 day.

I think the biggest thing i'm worried about is the eye test. I have measured out 20m and can read plates... just. On the Mod 1 I witnessed where they make you stand to read the plate.
So yesterday it was pissing down so thought, here's a good opportunity to get some wet riding experience.
So off I trotted through to the DSA centre. Stood where I had seen the eye sight test done and really struggled with it. POOP!! Shocked

Worse still my visor was completely useless! I really must get a pinlock sorted. Ended up pretty much riding about 50 miles with the visor open so I could actually see.

Apart from that, woo-hoo it's test day, but could turn out to be a pretty expensive eye test. Confused Very Happy Very Happy

Dont worry about the eye test! I wear glasses (That don't seem to work all too well Laughing) and I cope! Thumbs Up When you get to the test centre, have a quick read of all the number plates the other side of the carpark (where they test you)... you'll find it easier!

I was thinking of that Embarassed My instructor is a pretty decent bloke, so was thinking of telling him and then hoping I can go for a *coughs* ciggie *coughs* before the test.

I had glasses when I was young but didn't really help. My eyes don't work together apparently.

Well i'm back in from out the monsoon!!

I passed!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Got 2 minors so was over the moon.

On the ride to the test centre, it was probably the worst ride I have ever had and was making really stupid mistakes.
But when it came to the test it was one of the best rides i've ever done. I was nice and calm and relaxed and was actually really enjoyable considering. Just glad it's done and out of the way Thumbs Up

Thanks one and all and yep sure is bambi.

Had to laugh at my instructor. When leaving he said "You know how to get back??" so I said "Yep".
So off he went shouting "see you back there" lol. I never did catch him back up even with ringing the neck off his Er-5.
