So yesterday I was going karting in Falkirk, went my usual route but turned out a road was closed. So a new route was taken and I had no idea where I was going. The rain was hefty coming down and I was in a shit mood. So turned my camera off and plodded along.

Got to about 10 mins from my destination and was back on route, slowed down for a small round about, was going straight over. I turned to the left a bit and then as soon as I started going right the bike slid out from under me and it just went down! I hit the ground on my right side, and rolled to the left once. Bike hit the curb. My exhaust guard was smashed and my screen mangled, right indicator casing cracked and bulb smashed. My right peg was slightly bent and the rear brake lever was also bent. My forks had been slightly twisted too resulting in squint bars.

Thankfully I was fully geared and have no injuries at all. My trousers have hip pads which worked amazingly and my leather jacket protected my elbow completely.
Took it to the garage today and had my bars sprted (although they may still be slightly out) and the indicator and brake sorted. My brake is now better than before the accident too. Only cost £20 too so not too bad.

So all in all not a terrible experience. Not put me off riding at all and after the accident i went off for a race, although my head wasn't fully in it I wasn't too shaken up or anything. I just wish i hadn't turned the camera off before hand!

Good to hear that you are okay! Thumbs UpSmile

I've come off a couple of times - it shakes you up but the best thing you can do is get back on the bike right now and hit that same stretch of road.

Thanks, tbh I'm not that shaken up and certainly not put off riding. I've never been 1 for being scared of getting hurt. t the end of the day why live life being scared to do anything that might be dangerous eh.

I was lucky it wasn't worse and good to see the driver behind me stopped to help. This has just made me more cautious and solidified that fact that I won't ride without all the protective gear I have. My mate took the piss cos every time he sees me i'm in full gear, yeah i'm glad of that now I'll tell you!
