Just watching I Spy on Channel 5 and it's got me wondering; what was the last Eddie Murphy film that didn't suck like a cheap whore?

The bloke was properly funny back in the 80s but he seems to pick up crappy role after crappy role.

Thoughts?

PS. If anyone says Shrek I think that's more of a damning indictment on his career than saying Trading Places.

I used to think that Eddie was funny when he did Raw and Delirious and the gradually got the less funny.

The trouble is I went and got my Richie Pryor stuff out recently, and discoved that Eddie just an 80's copy of Richie...

Funny but hardly ground breaking. There was alway a sincerity with Richie that is missing form Eddies stuff.

I find him tolerable, and really all his films are mediocre at best as films, even Beverly Hills Cop series weren't that good, especially the dreadful third one which should be banished form existence.

Problem is, he has played too many shit roles to be taken seriously.
